It is Memorial Day weekend and I have yet to attend a BBQ...sad face. BUT it wasn't without scandal, that is for sure. I was able to "salute the troops" and "pour one out for the homies" bothe Thursday and Saturday night, so I can't really complain. Yay for new friends. The pictures from this weekend are ridiculous, of course. Not like I was in Vegas partying with the Sharks or anything. Sigh. But I did get to spend time with family, which is also nice and doable importante. My baby sister is in China and I miss her terribly. All I have gotten is one measly phone call so far....but she returns Saturday and she better be bearing gifts...or else.... :) Ok so the thing I am most excited, besides my new Ipad which was ordered today, is my impending trip with my best friend of all time, M. Although her time out here has been chalk full and I have only seen her 2 or 3 times, I know she means well.

We are strapping in and buckling down to embark on the road trip of all road trips. One car, two hot ladies, two adorable dogs and waaaaay too much luggage. One destination: Tuscon, AZ. I know it will be a blast, as it always is when M and E get together and I'm excited to spend some quality time. Maybe an impormtu stop in San Diego, although neither M nor I care for that part of Cali too much. (hello road trip 2003?) I am excited to spend time in AZ, away from Cali and all the drama of the beastbay...and see M and her Hubs and their new house! 3 cheers for the original Wolfpack being reunited!

On a different but equally important note...one of my friends J is having a her bday party Tuesday and its a Prom theme...sadly I do not fit into any of my old prom dresses, so is it acceptable to wear my bridesmaid dress, which is prom-y? Thoughts? I'm excited either way because it will be fun! (and probably a shitshow lol)

Ok well off to have some din din with the rents...love that home cooking :)

Hello Hello fellow bloggers....feeling much better today, although it has been HELL trying to to shake this cough/cold combo I inherited from one of my friends. And this cold, yucky, uninspiring weather is NOT helping. Where is the sun? I am jet setting to Carmel this weekend so hopefully I will find it there and bring it back to share :)

No new music news today...BUT....lots of sports goodies to discuss. My sport de jour is hockey. I have literally found a gold mine. Turns out my mom knew about this bevy of muscled, angry, fast men long before I even got on the train. Bully for her. What is it about guys on skates, fields, courts displayed their athletic prowess that gets me all hot and bothered?

Never the less, I was watching my beloved Washington Capitals play the Montreal Canadians ( creative mascot eh?)....my favorite player (outside of anyone on the Sharks) is Alex Ovetchkin and he was not showing up. He is the leading scorer in the league, and although he was taking plenty of shots, the Montreal goalie was blocking them all. Stupid Canadians....went up 2-0, both goals caused by mistakes by a player on the Caps named Green, and never looked back. The Caps were able to get one, but it wasn't enough and now they are dunzo. One of the announcers said it best when he said that the Capitals are a great season team, but are left wanting during the playoffs. Well if Ovetchkin wants something.....wait, wait mind out of the gutter!

What that announcer said made me think about life. Not to get all philosophical on you all, but thats been my M.O. lately. Maybe some of us are great season players, but when it comes to the playoffs we cant hack it. And maybe others of us are the opposite. If this is true, then which one am I? It is so easy for me to put everyone else in my life into one of those categories, but when it comes to being introspective, I always draw a blank. Maybe I am neither. Maybe I never stepped out on to the ice. Maybe I'm the Zamboni. Ok, so maybe that last one didn't make sense, but you get what I mean. This all makes me think of a an old quote:

"In the game of life, it's a good idea to have a few early losses, which relieves you of the pressure of trying to maintain an undefeated season."

It is true, even of the greats, that if you have a perfect season, come playoff or tournament time you might fall apart. The early mistakes we make help us be better people in the future; people who wont make the same mistakes twice. It takes some of us longer than others to learn though :)

And I will conclude tonight's post with a prayer...for my beloved SHARKS who play in the quarterfinal's against the stupid, octopus loving Detroit Red Wings tomorrow night in San Jose.

Our father who art in San Jose. Hockey be thy name. Thy will be done. The cup will be won. On ice, as well as in the stands. Give us this day our hockey sticks,and forgive us our penalties, as we forgive those who cross-check against us, Lead us not into elimination. But deliver us to victory. It's been a LONG time, I shouldn't have left you....

I have committed the ultimate sin of blogging...I gave up. Or as I like to think of it, my life was just too busy and exciting to write down my thoughts anymore. (We all know thats wishful thinking....I just suck at sticking things out...and I have the multiple gym memberships to prove it) Like I always say (about life):

"If you are not roped, you are whipped....but either way you are along for the ride."

How is everyone out there is Internet land?? It is 2010...and no apocalypse or flying cars yet....and even though this year is only 4 months old, it has already proven to be the most complicated yet. ( I think I say that every year....I need to get better New Year's Resolutions. Geez.)

New Year, new friends, new location, new responsibilities, new complications. No new boyfriend. And no diploma...yet. But don't worry, as usual I have a master plan. Just call me the dreamer schemer. Lol. New music, new favorite players and teams. New sports knowledge and scandals...too bad I wasn't blogging during the Tiger scandal huh? I'm not sure the best way to start, except to dive right in. Tomorrow.

So watch out world....I'm back. With some wicked insight into all things relevant...to me at least :) Now off to watch the Detroit Redwings get dominated by the Phoenix Coyotes...not that I care about the outcome so much....just in relation to who is coming to the Shark Tank....Sharks Baby...LETS GO SAN JO!

Also I am taking bets on the SMC vs. Gonzaga game tonite....can patty mills pull thru another game with his injured hand...or will the pressure be too much....also i hope my boy Josh H scores some more points this game...jeez....more later!

This is the REMIX baby....

This past week has been a crazy one in music. So much so, that I did not even have time to write a blog until now. Please forgive me.... But I write bearing lots of gifts! :) Where to start, where to start...Lets start with my current fav....Keri Hilson!

Not only did she come out with a remix for turnin me on with lil wayne and t-pain but they all have different verses, even keri and wayne! It is super sick...so download it today. And I mentioned her other single, "Knock You Down" in my last blog, but for thos of you who are slow, get on that song too. Her album drops March 24th and it is called "In a Perfect World." There is also a snippet of her new new song "Hey Girl" with Lil John and T-Pain; it sounds promising.

The Dream has an album coming out tomorrow, March 10th, approriatley titiled "Love vs. Money." My favs so far from that cd are "Mr. Yeah", "Put it Down" and "Take U Home 2 My Momma." You might notice that "Mr. Yeah" mentions one famously insane but also insanley talented Pop Diva whom The Dream has sung with before....I smell some drama! Yay!

In other news, the phenom young gun Kid Cudi has a song out called "Dat New" which is good, but he also has a new new song out called "Sky Might Fall" which I mentioned in my last blog, but it is so good I mentioned it again. Also, lil wayne has a song out called "I Got It" and he also came out with a remix of "Prom Queen" that is sick. Check out the official video for that song on youtube if havn't already, its funny. Kanye has two new songs out: "Doin Girls Wrong" and "Playa Playa." Both equally good, as per usual from Kanye.

PDSTM Part Deux

Ok I'm back! Rejuvinated and feeling much better about myself. Which is good news for you all because I am in the sharing mood :) I shouted out a few songs in my previous blog, but now I will get down to the nitty gritty...basically which I think are worth your time to listen to and why. Now while I will always and forever love Kanye West, recent love match aside, many people disliked his last record. Not me Kanye, not me. I believe this mellow trend in his music will continue and as we can see, will affect other artists he works with. Point in case, Flight School. Beautiful song, but somewhat sad and haunting. I personally love it, but it is not for the faint of heart. Same with Walking On the Moon. Although we do get much more vocally out of the Dream so I'm not complaining. The kat deluna song is one of my favs. If you liked Keri Hilson turning me on you will LOVE this track. It is a little edgier but so very delicious.

Speaking of Keri Hilson....she has a new track out! It is called Knock You Down and it features Mr. Kanye himself and Ne-Yo, whose song Mad is also a current favorite of mine. My other blow up track of the moment is by none other than one of my FAVORITE artists and has been a LONG time coming! Sky Might Fall by Kid Cudi. Produced bye....yup you guessed it...Kanye! yay! Give it a listen and you will see what I mean....it is amazing. But I would expect nothing less from Kid Cudi, a definite artist to watch.

Ps- Did anyone see the Kansas vs. Texas Tech game?? Normally I am a Jayhawks fan but I have to say I was more than thrilled to see TT pull an upset of the 6th ranked team, making them wear that shared league title lol. Also, good for Stanford since they beat TT preseason...
