I have not been in a blogging mood as of late. Those of you who know me will know why. Anyways, I know the need for new music surpasses any personal tragedies going on so here it is:
The Hot List:
Flight School - T-Pain & Kanye West
Walking on the Moon - The Dream ft. Kanye West
Put it On - Kat DeLuna feat. Lil Wayne
Mista DJ - Sean Kingston
Comfort - Omarion ft. Lil Wayne
The Stampede - Tyga ft. Drake ( this is just a snippet, meaning it is only about 1 minute plus some long but it is indicitive of what is to come from tyga...in short it is sick and worth downloading and listening to) Yes this is the same young man who sang the cocoanut song but trust me he is moving on up...
Thats it for now....I highly reccomend Flight School as it is my favorite of the moment...also for all of you Asher Roth fans out there, I have not forgotten. If you havn't dowloaded his mixtape from TheDailyKush.com yet...DO IT! its free and its fucking awesome...even if he does make fun of britney while rapping over her beats. Also there is a remix of I Love College with Jim Jones...I highly reccomend it :)
Hope that keeps you satisfied for now kiddies...more later when my life is not trying to be ruined by stupid bitches....
ciao for now

And the Diagnosis Is....
So I have been on a House bender as of late. My boyfriend purchased season 4 for me and I have been watching it non-stop. What better way to warm up during these cold past couple of days then with Dr. Greg House sending warm fuzzies to everyone on screen. :) But seriously, there is something about him that I just LOVE and cannot get enough of. But then again I think I have a thing for television characters like his. I am also in love with Detective Stabler on Law & Order: SVU and the always brooding Agent Fox Molder played by my very first crush, David Duchovney. Sigh. I digress.
As I'm watching the 3rd disc of the 4 disc set, I stumble on perhaps the most meaningful episode yet. Yes, House has insight in each episode, don't get me wrong, but this one was different because it hit home with me. The storyline followed a 38-year-old woman who used to live life in the fast lane, workring for a record label, but gave it all up for a serious, strict religion and marriage to man she had only met 3 previous times. House thinks their is something wrong with her mentally because he believes people don't make extreme changes like that out of the blue. He doesn't believe people can change period. Now to be fair, this is also the epidosde where House has to come to terms with Wilson dating Amber aka Cuthroat Bitch. Needless to say, he has alot on his plate.
But what he said really stuck with me. Can people change? I know they can want to change and even need to change. But do they ever really change the person they are? It made me think about all the change that has happened in my life. And their has been alot of it. I have attended 4 different colleges and had countless friends come and go, but is that because I changed or because life goes on? Right now I am trying to make a huge life change, but will I be able to do it? Or will what House said hold true?
Later on last night, I was reading one of my trashy teen mystery series (which will remain nameless) and I stumbled upon the same topic. The main character in the book pondered the same thing as House: can people ever change? Granted she had alot less of a cynical view, but the same question remained.
I find it very hard to believe that we are to forever be the people we are born as. That we are not influenced by our family, friends and our environment. I believe change is possible, dare say necessary for human beings. Motives for change can vary, but the result is the same. People can change because they love someone, they can change because they love themselves. Either way, we have to adapt to life and learn to live with anything it may throw at us. :) And on that note, here is to 2009 being a kick-ass year. God knows I need it. I'm sure alot of us do.
Anyways, have a great, rainy monday kiddies! I'll be back tonite with the music update for the week! Ciao for now!

So you want to be a Ballerina?
When I was a little girl, I loved ballet. I took ballet classes 4 times a week until I reached middle school. I loved the tights and the leotards and the floaty, pink skirts we got to wear. I even loved the toe shoes beacuse they were made of pink satin. :) I realized that didn't actually like ballet so much with the pointing of the feet and the bending and contorting my body into poses it didnt necessarily want to be in. I liked looking like a ballerina but not dancing like one. And so I quit and played soccer instead, where I actually could run into and hit people. And the rest is hisory as they say.
But I am starting to re-visit my old-school ballerina days with my new favorite thign of the moment: tutus. My bestie MP brought the idea up while discussing our upcoming trip to vegas, and I ran with it. I did some research and found out that several couture brands I love make tutus! Betsey Johnson for one. Although her tutus are longer and fluffy at the bottom making them look like petticoats and she calls them "crinoline skirts" but they are still fabulous! My tutu de jour is made by Class Act tutus for my favorite brand: Juicy Couture! When Juicy opened its newest store on 5th avenue in NYC, Class Act designed a whole slew of tutus for the manniquens in the store to wear. They matched the tutus with Juicy's newest zip up hoodie colors. They are simple devine and I want one in every color. Worn with tights and a cute corset type top or even just a plain tight v-neck t-shirt, this is the cutest look of the moment. Class Act also made tutus for the movie The Game Plan.
Now you know. Tutus=fabulous. Not that Carrie Bradshaw didnt already show us that, but now they are wearable for the masses. Class Act is having a sale on their Juicy tutus on their websit...so go forth and purchase!
Ciao for now :)

All is fair in Frienship and War...
Everyone has heard the saying "Imitation is the sincerest form of all flattery." I think that is bullshit. Yes, sometimes it is nice to have people appreciate the outfit you are wearing, or the music you listen to because it makes you unique to have your own taste and opinions on things. But when people start to mimic your outfits and song choices, it can be very disconcerting. I used to have this one friend, lets call her Joclyn, who couldn't conjure a single though of her own. Until now. This ex-"friend" of mine decided to engage in girl war with me after out falling out. Now, if you don't know much about girl war, let me explain. When boys fight it is straight forward, usually physical confrontations. But when girls fight, it is a downright art. Everything is underhanded and usually overdone. It has taken me years to perfect this art form. I have lost friends, boyfriends and even on occasion my dignity, but the knowledge I have gained is priceless. Some would call this immature and stupid, but those would be the people who never win. :) It is necessary to survive in the world today to know how to stand up for yourself. In any case, there are several rules when engaging in girl war, the first of which is not to include any authority figures. (ie teachers, parents and most importantly TH POLICE!) Well, some people must not have been informed of these unspoken rules of warfare because a certain ex-"friend" (Jocyln) paid the police a little visit after realizing there was compromising images and sensitive information of and about her on the internet. Now it is common knowledge that anything you post on facebook, compromising or not, is public record. This means that anyone can have access to pictures and information that you post or have posted on this website or any other. Meaning anyone can do anything with the things you post and it is not illegal. I digress. When I received my courtesy call from "Deputy Dan" I was pissed. Not only did going to the police violate girl code, it was a completely ridiculous accusation! As if I have the time or interest in creating a fake profile on a website and posting pictures that have already appeared on this person's facebook. Thank you but I have far better use of my time. Like spreading vicious rumors about how someone slept with half bar and cheated on her boyfriend. Oh wait, that was what was said about me.....
It's sad when friendships end. When someone you were very close to and you though you knew shows themselves for what they really are. But it is not very smart to cross people who know you too well and have done so much for you. What can I say? Some people are born with good social skills and graces and some are not. I will say this though, never have I ever cried wolf to the cops on one of my former friends, best or not.
All I can do now is move forward and try to avoid the drama as best I can. Although it seems to follow me :)
"You can try your hardest, you can do everything and say everything, but sometimes people just aren't worth trying over anymore...they aren't worth worrying about...it's important to know when to let go of someone who only brings you down."
Off to work now and then indoor soccer game later tonight...more tomorrow! ciao for now!

Vegas Baby :)
Flashing Lights Lights Lights! My two best friends and I are heading to America's playground in 14 days! I am beyond excited :) I have been to vegas many times; family trips and soccer trips but I have not been on my own or since I have been 21!! I have never ever gambled before. Girl Scouts honor :) I am a bit of a micro-manager, so I have mapped out the trip hour by hour to maximize the fun! (much to the dismay of my besties I am sure lol) We fly out Thursday night and stay our first night at the awesome Flamingo hotel courtsey of MC's ( my friends names will be kept private by abbreviations...if ur smart or you know us well enough you will figure it out) gambling points. We will proceed to immerse ourselves in all the sinful things the Flamingo has to offer including drinking, slots, cards and maybe some late night swimming. Then we will pass out. The next day, we will check into the Encore hotel courtesy of Papa Van Buskirk :) If you have not heard of Encore, I suggest you look it up. It houses the single most fabulous club in existence, XS. It is decadent and sumptous and totally expensive, but thats why God invented the black card right? lol Anyways, friday will be spent exploring the many exhibits I have researched, including but not limited too the Titanic exhibit, the Maserati exhibit and the Bodies exhibit. Then we will be attending the new Circ, Le Reve! Its basically Circ but with water. So excited! After that we will probably hit XS for a bit then sleep it all off. Saturday will be spent worshiping the sun goddess in our own private cabanna hopefully courtesy of MP's friend :) Then we will join MC's dad for din din at Tao and bottle service. Then we fly home early sunday morning and my very first grown up vegas weekend is complete! There is so much to be done in the next 14 days, between shopping and tanning and hitting the gym! But don't worry, I will keep you updated :) Ciao for now!

Vampires and Lycans or both...Oh My!
So I was just curled up in bed watching Underworld and Underworld: Evolution and can I just say that they are kick ass movies! I am not much for the sci-fi genre, although I do very much enjoy the Resident Evil series. (Hello Mila Jovovich is HOT! and a badass!) But Underworld is even better...who doesn't love a good werevolves vs. vampire battle to the death? And Kate Beckinsale is also hot...almost as hot as Scott Speedman. Thank god for their dynamic duo because everyone else in the movie is yucky. I am excited to watch the third installment, Rise of the Lycans. But first I must hit the gym and burn off some of this laying in bed all day grogginess hehe. Something about the rain does that to me. Sorry to all my friends that I have been out of touch to (momo and megs) I will return to real life tomorrow. Im not even going to start in on the travesty that was college basketball this weekend. It is still too painful for me to recollect, so I will postpone that blog until I am no longer in bitter shock. And I will leave you all with my quote of the day:
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they are right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
That last part is especially pertinent to my life, as a recent friendship fell apart but it only made me realize how much the loves of my life, M&M, mean to me :)
Ok off to the elliptical to burn cals and watch oklahoma and kansas duke it out on the hardwood...im more of a jayhawks fan myself :) ciao for now!

New Kid on the Block
Who is 23, hot in a nerd kinda way, and blowing up the music scene? Asher Roth. The new saving grace of hip hop. You may have heard his single "I Love College" which hit iTunes on Jan 13th, if not I suggest you download it right NOW! He is known for his wicked sharp tounge and his realistic lyrics. And yes he sounds like eminem. He can freestyle better than wayne. His debut album, aptly titled "Asleep in the Bread Aisle" is set to drop at midnight on 4/20. Ironic or just plain funny? I think its hilarious. Jay Z passed on him for Pittsburg slim...poor Jigga. You can downoad his mixtape "The Greenhouse Affect" on his website thedailykush.com. Also, want to give hime a call and get a real call back message? Of course you do. Dial 215-687-2262. Asher Roth is my obsession of the moment and hopefully longer, but more on that cutie later. In other mucis news, remember that song "Dick in a Box" that Justine Timberlake did with that guy Andy from SNL? Well Andy and two of his friends formed a band called "Incredibad" and they are releasing an album called "The Lonely Island." You can see a few of their "music videos" on youtube. They have several big names in their videos and signing on some of the tracks including, norah jones, jack black, t-pain, e-40 and the list goes on. I have hear the cd and it is pretty funny with such tracks titled "Jizz in my Pants" and "I'm on a Boat." Will they go down in musical history? Probably not. But will they care? Probably not because their shit is funny as hell.
Yes it is true: Lil Wayne is releasing a rock-infused album called Rebirth. You may or may not have heard the first single "Prom Queen." Eh...it leaves much to be desired. But as Wayne said on the MTV website, not everyone will like it because it is something new. He also doesn't want this record to be confused with The Carter IV, which will be entirely hip hop. Rebirth will be available April 7th, but until then here are a few downloads to keep you from salivating too much: "Amazing Love", "Hello World" and "My Thought Process." Enjoy!
Another interesting musical related topic: Chris Brown and Rihanna. She just released a single called "Hatin on the Club" featuring The Dream which sounds suspiciously like it is aimed at Brown. He fired back this week with an apology song called "Cry No More." Both are pretty good, alhtough Rihanna's has a bit of an old time du-wop, "my boyfriend's back" sound. Interesting....Also Lil Wayne's protegee Drake has a single out called "Uptown" featuring Wayne himself and Bun B. Its worth giving a listen to as Drake is very talented. But come on, would Weezy get involved in anything that wasn't?
Well that is all for now kiddies! I am off to grab a late lunch at Kinder's. I'm lying, its breakfast because I just woke up a bit ago :) Ciao for now!
